Prepare for a weekend immersion into the deep and steady practice of Yin Yoga. This 12-hour CEU teacher training / personal enrichment course is an introductory exploration for students who want to deepen their understanding of Yin Yoga for their own personal practice, and for yoga teachers who want to teach Yin Yoga in a safe and accessible way. This weekend will provide a space to practice, to teach, to learn, and to find stillness.


The weekend immersion will include a blend of Yin Yoga practices, teachings, discussion, and lecture led by Shelby Mills. A sound bath from Gabriella will be provided as a closing ceremony to end the weekend.


This training includes:
-Philosophy and history of Yin Yoga
-Benefits of Yin Yoga
-The Basic 26 postures
-Intro to Meridian Theory and how to create a practice to achieve specific results (with emphasis on emotional wellness)
-Intro to Yoga anatomy through the lense of Yin 
-Trauma informed ways to teach and practice
-Yin Yoga vs Restorative Yoga
-Teaching guidelines and how to design a practice
-Upon completion each student has the tools, practices, and resources to deepen ones own personal practice and to lead safe and accessible Yin Yoga classes.

*This training is open to all students! No RYT Certificate required.

Shelby Mills, C.Y.T

Shelby was introduced to yin yoga in her 200 hour Hatha yoga training under Shelly Carpenter in 2015. She then deepened her training in yin yoga under Dennis and Kathy Lang in her 300 hour teacher training in 2019. She has been teaching yoga since 2015 and practicing since 2007. Yin yoga has changed her life tremendously for the better. 
It has greatly assisted her in sitting with uncomfortable emotional reactive patterns and, over time, she has developed her self awareness, intuition, and confidence. Yin has given her wisdom and ability to gain awareness in the deep holds. Yin yoga has assisted her in sitting with what is uncomfortable and breathing and feeling through it. Shelby is passionate about sharing this practice with others in hopes to help people acheive a lighter and freer path.

Shelby is also a naturalist, free thinker, and nanny. Her education includes, Yoga Nidra, Reiki, and Tibetan Accupressure certifications.
