Together, we’ll delve into each verse, learning its pronunciation and meaning, and chanting at various tempos with beautiful melodies supported by drum, harmonium, and guitar. We’ll also explore the Ramayana—the epic story of Hanuman, Ram, and Sita—uncovering its philosophical and spiritual significance. This practice creates a grounding space for upliftment, fostering a deep sense of peace and connection.❤️🔥🙏

Emily Joan Smith is a devotional singer/musician and certified yoga teacher from Louisville, KY. She holds a Bachelor's in Music Education, concentration in vocal music, from the University of Louisville School of Music, and has a wide range of performance and genre experience. Emily received her 200hr yoga teacher training from Laura Spaulding at Yoga East in Louisville in 2017, where she also taught Hatha Yoga for a few years following. Since 2017, Emily has also been leading regular local kirtans and started the kirtan band Anahata Bhakti. Emily's passion lies in melding her love of music and truth-seeking together through the practice of kirtan, meditation, contemplation, and inquiry, in order to inspire awakeness, wonder, and connection. She has taken workshops and courses with kirtan wallahs Jai Uttal and Nina Rao, and spiritual teacher Adyashanti. Her practice is greatly influenced by Zen Buddhism and by the Bhakti teachings of the Neem Karoli Baba lineage.
Gabriella Gaona is an Artist, Yogi, Nature Lover & Co-Founder of The Inner Warrior, (innerwarriorlou.com) Louisville’s first donation-based Yoga Studio and MYPATH Fest, (mypathfest.com) Kentucky’s first Yoga Festival. She’s a Yoga Teacher, multi-instrumentalist, Sound Therapist, Event Producer, International Retreat organizer, and Co-Leader of Sound-Integration Trainings & Yoga Teacher Trainings. Gabriella loves sharing her own experience & modern interpretation of classical Raja-Hatha Yoga through her offerings. She is continually driven by her deep & ever growing passion for sharing wellness with the global community.
