This class offers space to restore ones mind, body, and spirit. Yin Yoga is a style of yoga that focuses deeply on meditation, clearing energy blockages, and stretching your joints and connective tissues. As opposed to a "normal" yoga class which would be considered yang (active and outward practice, stretching and strengthening the muscles). This style of yoga is based on the ancient Chinese philosophy of Doaism. Noticing and bringing balance to both yin and yang energies. In this class we will hold the postures for 3-5 minutes and most will be seated. Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between being awake and sleeping. It is a state where the body is completely relaxed. This will be created by withdrawing all of your senses besides hearing. This class includes breathing exercises, a full body scan, and healing imagery. Yoga Nidra gives you space to set an intension and help manifest it into your life. This practice is deeply healing and has been known to help with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and heart problems. Unwind with Shelby Mills every Friday evening (7:30-9pm).
